Cooking, Recipes, Wine............ and Ethical Foie Gras - At Last!

We're vegetarian. We eat fish of course but we're really almost vegetarian. And the occassional bit of ham - we eat the occassional bit of ham but we still consider ourselves vegetarian. Well, no red meat - we don't eat red meat. Except ostrich - ostrich is pretty delicious especially when served rare with mini toasts and topped with a lightly pan-fried duck foie-gras. It's a kind of millionaire's burger that the ostrich and duck-liver eating French seem to devour on a far too regular basis - and because we have succombed to this delight (but don't eat red meat) it's hard to say we're vegetarian at all.....

All we can say about ourselves is that we enjoy food, we enjoy wine and we'd enjoy foie gras an awful lot more if only it were more ethical. And that's a real pity because it tastes good and if that means we're no longer vegetarians, well.....
At least we're not cannibals - but have you ever thought how delicious Michael Winner's liver really would be? Think how much more you'd enjoy it knowing of the pleasure he's had, voluntarily stuffing himself with the worlds finest ingredients - just for you.
